About CASI/QLT
If you are
like most people you want to know about a company before doing business
with them. CASI/QLT started way back in July of 1977 with the revolutionary
idea of applying computer technology to the gift industry. Since then,
CASI/QLT has expanded from a single product into hundreds
of different personalized products currently being sold in over 40 countries.
You may have read about CASI/QLT in National Magazines
like Entrepreneur, Ladies Home Journal, Inc., Home Office Computing, Popular
Mechanics, Elks and many others. For the past 30 years, we have helped
more than 10,000 men and women from all walks of life join the CASI/QLT family
and realize their financial dreams.
Why has CASI/QLT been able to stand the test of time? The
answer is easy. Whether rich or poor, in good time and bad, people always
spend money on personalized gift items. Our
products never go out of style, appeal to every age group and best of
all, our customers need no special skills to produce them.
How Things Started For Me
Back in 1976, my Dad and I were looking for a way to
earn a living. We were short on funds and long on hope. Quite by accident,
we saw our first computer portrait system in a storefront on Broadway
in New York City. There was a crowd of people waiting to have their
portrait printed in very crude computer symbols on a piece of white
paper. They were actually waiting in
line to pay $3.00 for a 10¢ piece of paper.
Two exciting thoughts ran through our minds. First:
This was just like a Polaroid. Only instead of a camera, it used a computer.
Millions had been made with Polaroid and here was the same basic idea,
done another way. The second thought was that just once, we wanted the
chance to be in the right place at the right time and get in on the
ground floor.
Here was that chance -- and we grabbed it.
We bought and
set up one of these expensive and primitive systems in a mall on Long
Island, New York. How did we do? At Christmas
time, we outdrew Santa Claus in pictures taken.
Sure, we made more money than we thought we would but, just as important, we had fun doing it and a genuine feeling of satisfaction in
making a product people were happy with.
In early 1977, my Dad and I probably made the most
important business decision of our lives. That decision was to manufacture
the CASI/QLT Computer Portrait System. Making the decision was one thing,
but getting it done was something else. Somehow we begged, borrowed
and mortgaged everything to raise the money to get started.
Finally there was enough
money to research, engineer and manufacture the first CASI/QLT System.
A system that would not only produce a picture, but also allow you to
put a name on the picture and then transfer the whole thing onto a T-shirt
or poster. As they say, “The rest is history”. We
have gone on to become the World’s
leading source of personalized gift software,
transfer supplies and presses and photo novelties with customers in over
40 countries.
I firmly believe that our ability to “give the
public what they want” is one of the reasons our customers continue
to prosper with our products. We realized back in 1977 that personalized
products make money. Since the introduction of our first system 30 years
ago, it has been our goal to research and develop software and products
that bring a smile to the customer’s face while at the same time
provide an income for our customers . By offering
products that can be produced "while you wait", we also take into consideration
that in this day and age people want things NOW!
It is this philosophy that has earned CASI/QLT the reputation
of being “The World Leader in Personalized
Gifts Since 1977”.
Very truly yours,
